HL55104

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

HL55104 is an object proximity sensor IC, with four capacitive input keys and four direct outputs.   The state of an output is correspondence to the state of an input key directly.  There are three kinds of output modes (active high, active low and active low with open drain), which can be chosen by polarity pin.  HL55104 is fabricated by CMOS process with very low power consumption.  There are two operating mode, low power current mode and normal mode.  In low power mode, the operating current is about 10uA for four keys operation.  In normal operating mode, the response time is very fast.  When there is a key detected, HL55104 will enter into normal state with fast response time.  In the normal state, HL55104 will enter into low power state if there is not key detected for about 22sec.
In order to be used in a variety of different applications, there are some parameters used to define the sensitivity, time waiting for a stable state and polarity of the output.

OPERATION OF THE SYSTEM

The parameters PIN include MODE, SENSA, SENSA, REFT and ENBIN. There are 3 states input pin. The pin can be set as 0, 1 or Floating.

The HL55104 is active or not is set by ENBIN pin.
HL55104 is active when set ENBIN 0 or Floating. HL55104 is disable if set ENBIN 1.

REFT determine the time period for key waiting for a stable state.

The sensitivity of a valid key is set by SENSB and SENSA.  There are three different levels of sensitivity. SENSB=F and SENSA=0 is the most sensitive level, and SENSB=1 and SENSA=1 is the least sensitive level.

MODE is polarity pin. It defines the polarity of the OUT pins.

HL55104 is direct outputs.
If MODE=0, the OUT pins are low active output.
If MODE=Floating, the OUT pins are low active with open drain output.
If MODE=1, the OUT pins are high active output.
