GENERAL DESCRIPTION
HL6201 is a high-quality Music Box IC fabricated by CMOS process, which is designed to enhance the performance of HL6001 and HL6003 series and to reduce the external electronic component. While only one resistor is necessary but sound quality is improved. Instead of using the square waveform, which generates only the odd harmonics of the fundamental frequency, the circuit generates sound, which simulates some instrument with high quality sound effect.
There are five different operating modes in this circuit, i.e. ON/OFF mode, Trigger mode, Retrigger mode, Single trigger play all songs and Continuous mode. Besides, Level-hold mode can be used to replace ON/OFF mode by mask option. In order to drive the motor, there is one pin, i.e. MOTOR to drive the motor.
One LED output is provided to drive LED in accordance with the rhythm of melody. This circuit can drive a maximum of 32 songs, with 512 total notes. The output power transistors are built in the HL6201 and the circuit can drive an 8Ω speaker directly.
