HL8059

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The HL8059 Heart Pulse Detector is a differential-sensing electrocardiogram heart pulse detection IC.  The preamplifier is built in as a differential input amplifier for preprocessing heart pulse signal from input sensors.  There are four amplifiers can be configured as low pass filter and band pass filter for further heart pulse signal processing.  There is an internal digital processor which tracks input digital signals and produce digital pulse signal by suppressing noise signals which produced with pulse signal from input sensors.

FEATURES

  • Smart design for amplifying and filtering pulse signal
  • Built in automatic gain control
  • Built in noise cancellation circuit
  • Built in Oscillator circuit
  • Good ESD protection
  • Anti-shaking circuit design

OPERATION OF THE SYSTEM

The state of the PULSE pin is floating when the HL8059 is disabled.  When a pulse was detected by the system, the PULSE pin will send out a High pulse with 186ms duration.

The HILOEN PIN defines the ENB pin is High level or Low level to enable HL8059.
If HILOEN=1, the HL8059 will be enabled when the ENB=1.
If HILOEN=0, the HL8059 will be enabled when the ENB=0.

The SL60N PIN is to set the frequency of AC power, even a battery is used as the power supply.
If the frequency of AC power is 60Hz, then set SL60N=0.
If the frequency of AC power is 50Hz, then set SL60N=1.

SLA and SLB pins are for setting the degree of Anti-Shake function.  The more Anti-Shake function is set the less sensitivity will be, it may lose some pulse signal.  Conversely, the less Anti-Shake function is set more sensitivity will be; but it may detect some noise signal, especially in movement status.
When pulse signal is unstable more than three seconds, the Anti-Shake function will be turned off and the system will accept any pulse signal which includes the noise signal.  When pulse signal turn to stable again the Anti-Shake function will start again.
If the pulse number per minute is less than fifty-one or set SLA=0 and SLB=0, the Anti-Shake function will be turned off.
